Senna Burges (Sharon Stone), a struggling clothing designer who hasn't found herself quite yet, has given up on finding her soulmate. Despite efforts by her best friend and overprotective mother to help her, she continues to follow a path of irresponsible behavior, lost jobs, and dates with young men. Everything seems to go wrong for Senna, until her 46th birthday party, where she meets the handsome lawyer Adam. Assuming she will never meet him again, she meets him again on her 47th birthday when her life starts to become better.
