Gent-West tells the story of Véronique who, after a failed attack on her husband after years of mistreatment, gets into pre-trial detention in the prison of Gent-West. While the date of her trial approaches, she gets into a bad situation: 2 rival gangs control life in the prison and try to annex Véronique as fast as possible. It is difficult for Veronique to find her way in this new and threatening environment where lies, manipulation and blackmail are rather the rule than the exception.
Gent-West is based on the Australian format "Wentworth" developed and produced by FremantleMedia Australia Pty Ltd and is a co-production of Marmalade and FremantleMedia Belgium.
