Liliane Susewind, named Lilli, is eleven years old and a very special girl: she can talk to animals. However, since this has usually only caused problems so far, after moving to a new town with her parents and the dog Bonsai, Lilli decides not to tell anyone about her gift. However, when a thief breaks into the local zoo, Lilli finds herself forced to help the lovable animal keeper Toni and the endangered species.
