The Tobacconist The Tobacconist tells the story of seventeen-year-old Franz (Simon Morzé) and his friendship with the Jewish founder of psychology Sigmund Freud (Bruno Ganz). Franz meets the seductive Anezka (Emma Drogunova) and falls hopelessly in love, but she gives mixed signals. When the Nazis arrive in Vienna, Franz, Sigmund and Anezka face a big decision: to stay or flee? is based on the book "The Tobacconist De Viennese Cigar Farmer" by Robert Seethaler.
