The ultimate ABBA sensation, Mamma Mia! The Party, comes to the Netherlands

A brand new, theatrical experience including a 4-course dinner and after party, created by ABBA’s Björn Ulvaeus.

Following much acclaim from audiences in London and Stockholm, Mamma Mia! The Party will make its debut in Rotterdam in 2024. Just Entertainment will bring the theatrical dining experience to the Netherlands for the first time, transforming the venue into Nikos’ now famous Greek Taverna, a family run restaurant that never fails to give guests an unforgettable evening of dancing, dining and singing!

Mamma Mia, Super Trouper, Dancing Queen and Waterloo… The music of the beloved ABBA exedes party and that is exactly what the audience in Rotterdam can expect. Today producer Just Entertainment announces tickets for Mamma Mia! The Party will be for sale from the 23rd of May at 09.00 via www.mammamiatheparty.nl

It was during the filming of Mamma Mia! The Movie in 2007 on the Greek island of Skopelos, where the first seed for Mamma Mia! The Party was planted. The summer vibe, the flower-filled courtyards and the hospitable Greeks were inspiring and characters took their first shape. The great success of the films lead to a flow of tourists visiting the now iconic island. Proof that the audience wanted to be part of the story, if only for a moment. And with that thought, Mamma Mia! The Party is taking shape.

Bjorn Ulvaeus – creator of Mamma Mia! The Party: “I always thought Mamma Mia! had a party feel to it and people want to get out and party now more than ever. I can’t wait to welcome the people to Rotterdam through our famous blue doors to experience a truly unique taste of Greek hospitality”.

Yoshi Aesaert – CEO Just Entertainment: “We are incredibly proud to bring this title to Holland. ABBA and Mamma Mia! are worldwide still insanely popular. The latest sensation Mamma Mia! The Party is a wonderful and complete night out with all the trimmings. From dinner to show to after party. What makes it extra special is that the audience is part of the show. Mamma Mia The Party is an unforgettable and fully catered party!

Mamma Mia! The Party – Dance, dine, have the time of your life!

Mamma Mia! The Party recreates an authentic taverna in an old town square on the Greek island of Skopelos. Using extraordinary detail from the second guests step into the venue, the world becomes real: from a tourism office to souvenir stands, the experience transports attendees to the Greek isles without actually leaving terra firma.

Amidst the tables, a gripping love story will play out in the middle of the audience, full of dazzling dance and the most famous ABBA songs. Guests enjoy a 4-course Mediterranean dinner during the four-hour program. After the performance, the cozy village square turns into a disco full of glitter & glamor where everyone can dance to swinging classics during the after party. The host has only one house rule here: "Have the time of your life!"

The music and lyrics for Mamma Mia! The Party are by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. The original story was written by Calle Norlén, Roine Söderlundh and Björn Ulvaeus. The translator and cast for the Dutch production will be announced at a later date. The show is played in Dutch; the ABBA hits remain in English.
